Baby Quilt Finish

Last weekend was so busy I didn’t have any time to work on the baby quilt. Tuesday and Wednesday my sister-in-law Nita came to visit. We talked, did a little shopping, and just enjoyed each other’s company. We don’t get to be together often enough, but I do love the times we are together.

Yesterday was an all-sewing day. BigJ needed to take my car, so I was stuck at home, happily. I got busy and finished up the second baby quilt top. Wanna see it? Of course you do!

I snapped this picture at the end of the day, so I tried to get the best light I could. It is so pretty and feminine. Just right for a precious little girl.

I thought I’d show you a few of the tools that I use for this pattern. They make it so much easier to put the quilt together. The tutorial for the quilt can be found here.

Clockwise from the top: tweezers, mini periwinkle template, wacky web papers, and lapel stick.

The lapel stick is great because it can be repositioned and it holds that little kite-shaped piece of fabric on the paper while you add the other pieces. The template makes cutting so much easier, especially with charm packs. I quarter fold the charm piece and cut once with the template, yielding 4 kite-shaped pieces.

The tweezer is one of my favorite tools in my sewing room, especially when sewing paper foundation. It is so handy for getting those tiny little pieces of paper out of the blocks. I use this Sew Easy Tweezer.

This is the second mini periwinkle quilt I’ve made. I’m sure I’ll make more, since it’s such a fun and easy quilt to make.

The baby quilts are heading off to be quilted soon. I can’t wait to see them all finished!

Enjoy your weekend, friends!

Wendy
