I Like Thursdays #19

It’s Thursday once again, and that means it’s time to share my likes for the week in this I Like Thursdays #19 post. I’m joining up with LeeAnna and the rest of the gang as we share a few laughs and good things we’ve experienced through the week. LeeAnna has a list of all the other bloggers who are playing along, so do stop over to read LeeAnna’s post as well as the others.

My first like of the week has to be Wilbur the Cat. Of all the cats I have had (and I’ve had a few), he is the most curious of them all. And persistent. He is terribly spoiled (mainly because he is persistent) and makes me laugh.

Over the Christmas holiday, he was very helpful as I was cooking, helping me choose the spices for the next meal. My daughter thought this was quite funny.

He might not be able to carry in the groceries (unfortunately) but he does his best to help me unload them.

He gets in there deep, just to make sure I didn’t leave a thing in that bag.

I like to shop for quilting fabric. I was delighted to find this fun little stash on our quick run up north this past weekend.

That little fat quarter, second from the top, is actually two fat quarters on top of each other. It’s all the shop had of that fabric, and it’s one of my favorites. This stack doesn’t look all that exciting, but it makes my little heart go pitter patter. The bottom two fabrics are Marcia Derse fabrics, which I’m collecting for a personal quilt someday.

I like having information at my fingertips. There was a tiny bit of panic when I discovered this today.

I Like Thursdays #19 - I learned how to clear this mess from underneath my bobbin threader - piecefulthoughts.com

That mess was wrapped under my bobbin threader. Don’t ask me how long it has been there. Thankfully, I went to Mr. Google and he was kind enough to share a fix with me. Yikes. I hate losing all that good thread, but thankful I don’t have to take my machine in.

I like snowstorms – when everyone is home and safe. We have one in the forecast for Friday and Saturday. We’ll see if it actually happens. We haven’t had a whopper yet this year, so I’m ready. I don’t need an excuse to hunker down and sew, but I’ll take it.

That’s my I Like Thursdays #19 – hope you enjoyed a peek into my little world, and I hope you pop over to LeeAnna and the others to read a few more likes!

a cat’s curiosity – is sometimes quite funny – I’ve had a few of them over the years but none in recent years

Oh I love Wilbur! He’s very dog-like in his snooping through grocery bags! Our dogs always do that, the first one we ever had, Rex, just like him, rooting right to the bottom! And oh yes, yay for new fabric and for Google. Just yesterday I solved my frustration with trying to correct on my iPhone. With the new update, it’s not at all how you used to!

I miss having a cat in the house when I see cute pics like yours. All I have in my house is two very spoiled and bratty dogs. Of course, they are my life! Beautiful fabric and yes, thank goodness for Google and solutions. Thanks for sharing your likes!

Oh I am so glad you didn’t have to take your machine in, that it’s a lot of thread ☹️. Yes do stay in and stay safe, pedal to the metal. I hope to sew a bit today.

Hi Wendy! OMG – those photos of Wilbur are SO cute. I wonder what he thought about all those spices and the different smells. AND, he is quite the grocery helper . . . and really gets into his job, doesn’t he?! Ooh-la-la, those fabric look divine. I really love the pattern on the bottom one – can’t wait to see you use it! I like snowstorms, too, with the same restrictions. Enjoy the storm this weekend – and what a shame about the thread. Did Mr. Google have any idea how it happened?! ~smile~ Roseanne

I like that Wilbur – he looks he keeps you on your toes! It’s always fun to get new fabric – I really like that top one. Glad you could figure out what caused that thread mess! And yes to a snowstorm when everyone is safe, warm, and home where they belong!

Ask Wilber why I have to keep signing in to comment, he might know, hee hee FYI, I have a MD stash which resides next to the once full Malka stash.

Those fat quarters look so pretty. That much thread under the bobbin would freak me out-so glad you were able to take care of it on your own!
    Stay warm and safe!

Your photos of Wilbur made me chuckle, too. Ugh – so much thread. I’ve seen it balled up like that when one of my plastic bobbins snap (getting rid of my old ones – I like the metal ones better, anyway).

The cat is cute. My barn kitties are very demanding and insistent too. Your fabric is pretty. How nice Wilbur helps unpack groceries too. I love curious kitties.

That Wilbur is so funny. I love him selecting the spices – such a discerning kitty! I have some Marcia Derse I could share with you! We may have snow Saturday into Sunday. I have two things to finish so I should be busy!

well it’s good to have a second opinion on spices! The touch choice method. “this one feels right mama” And what a good helper to unpack the groceries. I got a pitter pat seeing the fabrics too… now to use what I have…as to snow… ours blows sideways not gently down. We still have piles of it from well over a month ago and possibly again this weekend. They said watch for winds this afternoon, the sort that blow patio furniture off the porch. awesome.

Great post! cute shots of Wilbur and some great fabrics in that stack there. Hope you enjoy a quiet weekend of snowy sewing. It was supposed to snow here yesterday and try as it might, we only got a few flakes. Dang it!
