Northfield Quilt Show Highlights

This past weekend was the 2017 Northfield Quilt Show “Spring Radiance” hosted by our quilt group. I thought I would give you a little peek at some of the quilts in the show. These are just a few that I thought you’d enjoy seeing. I have a difficult time picking favorites. I liked them all.

I’ll show you the quilt first; the label follows last. These ladies are talented! So without much more description from me, I’ll let the quilts do the talking. Enjoy!

I like the color and design of this quilt.

Hosanna by Rosie Werner

This block has long been a favorite of mine, one I would like to make someday. I like the use of different colors for the blocks. Rosie’s quilt is a beauty!

French Quarter by Sharon Detert

The colors in this pretty quilt are so bright and cheery. I also like the layout and the curved pieces.

Rhapsody by Mandy Roberts

Mandy showed us her progress as she worked on this quilt. It was such fun to see her work on it. All those little pieces!

My Minnesota Memories by Barbara Drentlaw

This quilt is just so much fun. I enjoy looking for all the little details.

And, of course, the skeeter . . .

I have to show you just one more, a quilt that just amazes me whenever I see it. The quilt is so large I couldn’t get it all in the photo (it was a challenge to hang as well).

Family Legacy by Elaine Strese and Cookie Williams

Look at the beautiful spring colors in this quilt!

Take a peek at the size of those squares . . .

The quilting is all done by hand. I believe Cookie said it took her over a year.

These are only a few of the over 100 quilts at the 2017 Northfield Quilt Show. I wish I could show them all. We have a talented bunch of quilters.

In Friday’s post, I’ll show you a few of the Northfield Quilt Show Featured Quilter, Victoria Miller. You need to see her beautiful work. I can’t wait to show you!

Hope this inspires you to do some amazing quilting of your own today! See you Friday!

Wendy
