Pieceful Friday

It’s Pieceful Friday here in my quilting room, so I thought I’d show you what I’ve been up to this week. Well, at least what I can show you, which won’t look like much. There’s quite a bit going on in my little quilty room! Anyhoo, I’ll just show you what I can.

International Sister #2

Pieceful Friday - My second International Sister block, made from a pattern by Sew Preeti Quilts - piecefulthoughts.com

Isn’t she beautiful? This is a fun block pattern generously shared by Sew Preeti Quilts. See that little mess she’s trying to cover up? That’s my most recent squirrel (like I needed one).

Simply Sensational Summer Scrap Quilt

Have you met Kevin the Quilter? If not, you should. Kevin is feeding my squirrel addiction this summer with his Simply Sensational Summer Scrap Quilt Mystery QAL. You know why? It’s a two-color quilt! I’ve always wanted to make one, and to make it even better, this mystery has — wait for it — just three clues. What’s not to like about that?!

You can find Kevin’s introduction to this scrappy mystery QAL right here. It’s just begun, so feel free to join in (I love company, and so does Kevin).

So all those red scraps show my work on the first clue.

I have a bin of these reds that I won from another blog. I think this mystery QAL will be a great way to use them up. However, I’m finding I tend to have mostly one value of reds in my stash. (Does that mean I have low value – hahaha – sorry, couldn’t resist that.)

How about a sneak peek?

I’m part of a group called The Endeavorers, and we work on a quilt each quarter based on a theme. I’m working on my project right now, and it’s due August 1st. Time’s a-wastin’! Here’s a peek at what I’m up to, but that’s all I’m telling you for now.

Reveal Coming!

Check back next week and see the reveal of my latest project for Paintbrush Studios. It was a pocketful of fun!

In the meantime, BigJ and I are going to have a little fun over the weekend picking cherries. I’ll tell y’all about it later (or I might post a bit on Instagram). See you next week! Enjoy your weekend!

Your quilt room room looks like a busy and happy place. Enjoy your Friday of piecing.
I don’t know much about colour theory, but it has struck me that red probably doesn’t have a big range when it comes to value. What do you think?

So happy Preeti’s sisters have come to your sewing room! They’ve been thinking a lot about coming to me, but haven’t gotten on the ferry yet (I live on an island). Your red looks terrific, as do the appliqued flowers. Can’t wait to see what the turn into.

I like Preeti’s block and I guess I should get over to her blog to see it. Kevin’s q.a.l. sounds like fun but I’m squirreling along on other projects here. Enjoy your cherry picking weekend It’s stinking hot here and I think our weather isn’t far off yours so stay cool!

Preeti’s block is a quick one, so I’m sneaking them in here and there. Yes, it is a hot one here today! Stay cool, Lisa!

I like Preeti’s block! I’ll have to check out the QAL — two color quilt sounds doable for me at this time — I’m lovin the Kaffee applique sneak peek — can’t wait to see the finish ♥ Have fun cherry picking –stay hydrated!

I loved Preeti’s blocks and I’m am loving yours too. Have fun picking cherries – none in Arkansas to pick – do you have get enough to preserve in some way? I saw Kevin was doing a mystery but I do not have time to participate – doing to many now as it is (and ideas for more)

Cripes, Wendy. I’ve been trying to ignore squirrelly projects. I had forgotten about the International Sister block and that I really want to make a few or even quite a few. Love this and I sincerely mean thank you for reminding me. Can’t wait to see where all that red goes – it’s a cousin of orange after all so it is fabulous. ~smile~ Roseanne

Since I have been in your sewing room I can easily imagine you working away on this project and then that project etc!! Your aqua lady is so pretty. OMG it is stinkin dark again and windy.

So excited to see what your scrap mystery looks like, Wendy! I was interested in that one but just can’t add another project right now. I love a good scrap mystery and your reds will make for a great bright quilt!
