Pieceful Monday

It’s a quiet Pieceful Monday here. Our weekend was spent getting the Christmas tree and doing some decorating. Pieceful Monday - Getting the Christmas tree - piecefulthoughts.com

We found our tree in record time, literally a few steps out of the car. It was a beautiful, sunny day for tree shopping!

Meanwhile, back in the sewing room, I was playing.

Kona Silver, and some Painter’s Palette Solids by Paintbrush Studio Fabrics that my brother picked up for me at quilt market.

I’ve gotten this far; now to decide how much more to add.

This has a deadline, so it will be my project this week. I’ll show you the finished project soon!

How about you? What are you working on this week?

I have seen some get a fresh tree right after Thanksgiving and wonder how they keep it looking nice until after Christmas. When we would go cut a tree when we lived in Idaho we always waited until about the middle of December to get it it and the needles would be dropping before New Year’s Day.
I am working on too many things like usual this week it is mainly part 4 of the mystery quilt that I am participating in for a change

Love your project you are working on, colors are great-I just bought some Kona in the green/aqua family too. Is this an improv project meaning you are cutting any length and width that strikes you? You’ll have to show your tree all decorated!

This is stunning…blues are my favourites and they look really nice with the greens. I had one of those really busy weekends. Babysat the boys on Friday . Then tied a donation quilt and sewed together quilt backs for the guild on Saturday with my two quilting buddies. On Sunday Toronto to visit my daughter and my circle of friends who live there. Now it’s a crazy busy week leading up to Christmas. Enjoy your week.

Pretty blues and greens! I found a squirrel nesting in a couple of charm packs, so I’m stitching up some blocks using a Quick Curve ruler pattern. It’s been soothing 🙂

Oh it looks amazing! I love those colors together. I’m planning a quilt from those colors right now, but mine will be traditional patchwork. I love your modern version. If it were me, I’d bind it where it lies. It looks great as is.

Hi Wendy! Oooh, pretty solids. This kind of reminds me of a keyboard. All of our snow is gone, but it looks so nice getting a fresh tree with a bit of snow around! I wonder what this project will end up being and for whom – with a deadline, it must be a gift?!! I hope you have a wonderful week. ~smile~ Roseanne

Love the colour combination. Must have been fun to pick which solid to place beside which. Love Kona silver as a background fabric. It seems to play well with almost any colour scheme Enjoy your week upcoming.

That looks like a beautiful tree! I love the project you’re working on, too – such pretty and refreshing colors. I have a few last minute gifts to finish up this week – small things like mug rugs and potholders. Hopefully, they will go quickly!

My weekend was spent sewing orders from my shop. Not all that fun but still a good thing. I also finished up a holiday quilt for my DIL’s birthday so that is going out in the mail today. Today will be more orders for the shop. Three more and I am good. Well, unless another order comes in?!? Have a great day Wendy. Love the blues and greens together!

Ahhh, a real tree! 🎄I’m happy to see you & Husband still pick and cut your own. Reminds me of doing that with my Dad as a kid, it just feels so Christmas at any age; pine scent, vacuuming the needles and all! (I confess I have a fake one now)
I love your Kona solids, the color scheme is so calming, I’m very curious to see the finish.
Happy Holidays to you and yours Wendy!

I just finished making a cape for a friend who sets up a booth at our Renaisance Festival. Made my own pattern and made it reversible.
Can now focus on finishing some Christmas projects. I am making chap stick holders, microwave bowl potholders and luggage tags for my grandson’s teachers
