Thursday Likes and Laughs

I have some Thursday Likes and Laughs to share with you today. Once again, I’m joining up with LeeAnna and the rest of the I Like Thursday group listed over at Not Afraid of Color

Isn't the orange begonia pretty with my Shoo Fly block? - piecefulthoughts.com

I like this orange begonia with my Shoo Fly block. This was one of the photos I considered for my Shoo Fly Block post. The planter is a chicken that I purchased in Santa Fe.

Wall cloud on our horizon this morning - piecefulthoughts.com

I like looking at stormy skies, and our sky was looking a bit ominous yesterday morning. We had a rumbling thunderstorm, leaving behind heat and humidity.

Needing a little laughter, earlier this week Molly and I watched Jumanji and Jumanji: The Next Level. For some reason, I find these two movies laugh out loud funny. If you haven’t seen them, watch them both, in order. The second one is funnier than the first, in my opinion – but you really need to watch the first one to get the second one.

The Weekly Wilbs

Really this post is all about Wilbs. He has been in top form lately, making me laugh out loud. As I was reading and answering emails one morning, I looked up to see this.

The Weekly Wilbs - what are you doing up there? - piecefulthoughts.com

The photo is blurry because I was trying to take the photo before he jumped. So how did he get up there? He jumped to the kitchen counter, up to a top shelf in the kitchen, and hopped across onto the curtain shelf. He actually turned around, walked back across the shelf and jumped down on the kitchen counter.

The other day while I was sewing, I heard him scrabbling around on the floor behind me and turned around to see this.

Where's Wilbs? - piecefulthoughts.com

Thankfully he was after his toy mouse, not a real one. Haha. As soon as he got it out from under there, he was done.

For the rest of these hot and humid days, he’s been doing this.

I couldn't agree more, Wilbs - piecefulthoughts.com

I hope you’ve enjoyed my Thursday Likes and Laughs. Pop over to Not Afraid of Color and read a few other posts of Thursday likes!

Happy Thursday, everyone!

It’s no wonder Wilbs needs a nap all that climbing and mice chasing is enough to wear any cat out.

LOL! I love Wilbs and thank you for the update on him. How old is he? My Jack is Wilbur’s twin but fatter (shhhh!) so he could never jump that high. Rosie is the one in our cat family that will flatten herself to nothing and crawl under the tiniest of openings.
I just told my husband to find Jumanji to watch. We just caught up with the last Virgin River on Netflix and need some new stuff!

That was quite the dark and threatening sky! We could use a good thunderstorm here. I’m not sure I’ve actually watched the Jumanji movies, but I know Mike likes them. I’ll have to put them on my list. Love your photos of Wilbur’s antics – Wilbur the explorer!

Wilbur may be after spirits. Our kitties often see things that we can’t see. Love your shoofly block. It looks good with the begonia.

Pretty flowers and another cute block Wendy. I hope you know how much entertainment Wilbs provides us all. I miss having a furry family member, but don’t think you’d all find my DH as entertaining as Wilbs! 😉

The block and the planter are just perfect. I am soooo behind on blogs. Mostly I am scanning to see if there are tutorials or tips in them. Love Wilbur and the way cats figure out how to get where they want – it is mind boggling.

I love the flowers with the quilt block too–and I have had cats that love to get up high–right next to the ceiling–not sure why they liked to do that–but great entertainment!! and I had one cat-yellow like Wilbs–who only liked purple and red colored mice–picky cat!! I miss having a cat–
    luv, di

Bella has a thing about getting inside and sometimes behind drawers! Many a time I go to close an open drawer after getting ready and hmm, it won’t shut! And after a few seconds out squirms a furball! So glad our animals give us such joy, and lighten our mood. I love looking at stormy skies too, though sometimes they make me a tad nervous. We’ve had some doozies this month.

Pretty flowers and shoo-fly block. Wilbs is a star! Thanks for sharing his antics with me. Happy Thursday … 🙂 Pat

Love the Shoo Fly block on the pavers with the flowers. Beautiful setting. As for thunderstorms, it doesn’t take much for the humidity to go up even if the rain was slim to none. I took care of my daughter’s cat (a sister to Wilbs) who is an outdoor orange cat She didn’t show up for breakfast or dinner one day but when I saw her the next day she had a lot to tell me about her adventures…not sure what they were. I found one of her hiding places from the sun but when I approached her, she took off.

I have seen the 1st Jumanji movie, but not the 2nd. I love your orange begonias. They are fabulous. Our day started out looking gray and foreboding. Wilbs I am impressed, especially considering that I have seen my cats fall of the stairs while they are rolling around on the porch.

  • Sandi Scarlett

Your begonias are beautiful! I always enjoy the weekly Wilbs as he reminds of me of my cat, Vinnie. Vinnie is the same color and is always climbing up on things. The other day he jumped on my husbands back and then up to the top of the cupboard. My poor husband was sore from his claws. He always jumps on the counter and up to the top of the frig.

My Buff Kitty is the same. If there’s a box or suitcase or piece of paper that hasn’t yet been sat on or laid in… he’s just got to fix that!
