A DrEAMi Weekend

My weekend sewing took a turn on Saturday, when a little DrEAMi squirrel dropped in – a bit late, but I think I can get this in with Sandra’s link up over at mmmQuilts. A DrEAMi project is one where you just have to Drop Everything and Make it. As soon as I saw this on my IG feed, I knew exactly what I was going to be making on Saturday.

The Sylvie Tote by Sotak Handmade was a breeze to make. I didn’t have any cute cat fabric like the one I saw, but I did have this grey and yellow print that I love, and I happened to get the fun handle material recently from Zipper Valley. (I have no affiliation with either of these businesses, but I do like their products.)

I had so much fun sewing this up, I didn’t even think to take progress photos. This tote is the “everyday size” of the three sizes in the pattern. It measures 12″ x 14-1/2″ finished. I’ve decided this will be a fun tote to use for my library bag; it will be perfect for toting books!

Meanwhile, I’ve been working on my challenge quilt, which was my main item on my to do list for the week. I just can’t show any photos of that until August 1st. These little totes, and those fabric bins I’ve been making, are like little snacks in between my work on the challenge quilt.

It was a wonderful, DrEAMi weekend – I hope you had one too!

Wendy
