Another SAHRR Center Block

Today I have another SAHRR Center Block to show off, and it’s not mine! If you are just dropping by my blog for the first time, welcome!

Wondering what SAHRR stands for? Stay at Home Round Robin. This fun quilt along came about a few years ago when we were all stuck at home during the pandemic. Quilting Gail rallied a few of her blogging friends and suggested we have a round robin quilt along. However, one a bit different from the traditional round robin quilts, where the quilt is passed along from one person to another, each adding to the quilt. The Stay at Home Round Robin quilt project stays with you, and you add each border. You can find out all the details of this event at Quilting Gail’s introductory post

If you are sewing along with us and ready to link up your center block, go here for this week’s link up. You can also pop over there just to see all the center blocks being used this year.

Okay, back to another SAHRR center block. My friend, Eva, asked if I would post her progress in the SAHRR for her, since she is not on any social media. I’m happy to do that for her. Take a look at this pretty block!

I do love an improv block, and this one is so much fun. The colors, the words on the tree and the zebra, so many fun elements. I don’t know what size the block is – I will have to ask and share that later.

If you haven’t joined up with us yet, there’s still time to join in. The first border will be announced this coming Monday, so make a center block (or use an orphan block) and let’s have some fun! We have some great sponsors this year who are donating some amazing prizes:

I hope you enjoyed seeing another SAHRR center block today. If you’d like to encourage Eva, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll pass them on to her!

Happy stitching!

Wendy

Hi Wendy and Eva! Oh, what a fabulous center block to build off of. The colors and patterns can go in any direction. Thanks for sharing this with us, Eva. I cannot wait to see what direction you take this center block. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

I have that zebra/african collage fabric! I love it and just can never figure out what to do with it without ruining its design…Tell your non-on-line friend, I’ll be keeping watch for what she does with it!
BTW: I have toyed around with stretching it on a canvas for use as a whole cloth bit of fabric artwork…but it’s still in my bin of “favorite fabrics I don’t know how to use to their best advantage”!

Hallo to all of you! First of all, thank you so much for your kind words! Wow, what a feedback. Today was a conference at company about courage. And I am happy that I had the courage to ask Wendy if she likes to show my center block. I am in Germany and may be some language mistakes you have to appologize. It is not my mother language. But writing with Wendy I improved (hopefully) and I learned so much following her blog. Sewing groups with the same „way“ where I want myself to develop are less.
I got this tiny peace of fabric as a goody from a shop but do not now the name or the company. Is it still possible to get?
There is only a little plan how to go on with the colours and I count down the days when we all get to know about the pattern for the first border. Thanks to the organizing group!
Will send Wendy the size for the next blog to write. Thank all of you for your lovely comments!

(Not sure my first comment went thru). I think these fabrics are so beautiful and so unique that there should be no problem finding inspiration for all of those borders! Yes! Thank her for sharing! We love having yet another one to watch as it builds!
