Christmas Finish

I have a Christmas finish to show you today, and an unexpected on at that. My Coreopsis quilt is done and I can’t wait to show it to you.

I showed you the quilt top a few weeks ago in this post, where I explained that it was done as an informal quilt along with Emily (The Darling Dogwood) – you can see Emily’s version here. I hadn’t intended this to be a Christmas quilt, but when finished it reminded me of a poinsettia. I’m delighted to have it done so I can enjoy it this Christmas.

I used Vand Co’s Fairy Dust Metallic ombre fabric for my quilt top and the binding. It’s difficult to capture the radiance of the ombre in photos, but the snow provided a nice backdrop! The top goes together quickly, making four large blocks, then joining them with sashing. The pattern was designed by James & Gracie and you can find it here

Connie quilted this for me, and I am so delighted with what she chose to do! I love to take quilts to her and tell her to just do her thing. She never disappoints! Here’s a few close ups:

Swirls and feathers and holly – oh my!

Using red and green thread, the back of the quilt is just as gorgeous.

All that’s left to do is get the rod pocket sewn on so I can hang it. Once that’s done, I’ll share a photo in a later post. The quilt is 34″ square, so I have the perfect spot for it!

Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by and taking at peek at my Christmas finish!
