Mango Salsa Table Runner

My Mango Salsa table runner is one last quick finish to share with you before I take a break for the next week. I have one specific brand of mango salsa that I like to eat, and for some reason the fabric colors brought it to mind, hence the name for the runner!

Mango Salsa Table Runner, a quick little improv runner, just for fun - piecefulthoughts.com

In an effort to break away from my addiction to improv curves, I pulled out my solids and thought I’d try some other improv with a variety of solids. When I came across this blend of greens and oranges, I had to play with them a bit. I started with squares around 5-1/2 inches, then cut curves (had to sneak a few in) and diagonals.

I quilted it with wavy, flowing lines, experimenting a bit with following some of the curves and seeing how that played out. It worked out okay, although a bit random. Never know until you try, right?

The backing fabric is a piece from my stash, as are all the other fabrics.

You can definitely see the crazy wavy quilting from the back.
