Stitch Along With Us!

I’m inviting you to stitch along with us in 2024, as we join together for another Stay at Home Round Robin (SAHRR). Hosted by Quilting Gail, she gathered a few of us during the pandemic and we began the SAHRR quilt along. We had so much fun, we’ve continued the SAHRR each year. SAHRR 2024 will begin in January, so there’s time for you to make plans to stitch along with us. Let me show you my past round robin quilts, followed by a link to more information for the upcoming SAHRR.

My first SAHRR quilt, made in 2021:

The star in the center block is from blue wool; the rest of the block is cotton. While i was working on it, I wasn’t sure I would like the quilt when it was done, but it’s now one of my favorites.

My SAHRR 2022 quilt is quite a bit different from my first.

For those of you who have followed me for awhile, you know I love improv quilting. This was so much fun to make, and Connie used her amazing longarm skills to make the design shine.

My SAHRR 2023 gave a nod to the theme of “round robin”.

The center block was a test block I made for Sandra Healy Designs. It seemed right to use a robin block for the Stay at Home Round Robin. The first green border was initially added because I was going to make traditional spool blocks. Then I got the idea to use raw edge applique to make tumbling spools. I liked the green border so much, I added it between each round.

I cannot wait to show you what I’ve chosen for my center block this year. It will be a bit of a new twist for me, and the uniqueness of the block takes it up a notch (and makes me a bit nervous). I’ll explain more about that when I show you my block in a future post.

How do you join in?

Gail has done a huge amount of work getting all the details in place for SAHRR 2024. She not only managed to get all of us co-hosts organized, she also found some amazing sponsors. This is going to be a fun year!

You can learn more details about SAHRR 2024 in Gail’s post HERE.

Gail has a wealth of information in that post, so it’s worth reading, even if you are just curious about how this is done (but I hope you’ll join us!). This is a very relaxed, low stress quilt along. Your block stays with you, you choose how you are going to use the borders in each round, and you will have fun meeting other quilters and seeing what they are creating.

Hoping you will stitch along with us in 2024!

Wendy
