Pieceful Life

Thursday Once Again

It’s Thursday once again, and that means it’s time for me to join LeeAnna and the rest of the group over at Not Afraid of Color. Each week, we take a little break from our normal quilting posts to share things that bring us joy and laughter.

So let’s start off with a little road trip that BigJ and I took this weekend. The autumn colors were showing off, and the weather was perfect. The weekend didn’t go quite as planned, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Along the drive home, we pulled over to take a look at Ottertail Lake. Of course, I had to snap a few photos!

In search of a few snacks along the way, I was amused to see that I could’ve picked up a few teeth – just a buck a piece?! Who knew?

I just finished this book, my first by this author. A mystery set during the time of ship travel on the high seas, the language can be a bit crispy and crude, but I thoroughly enjoyed the plot.

It’s October and my hibiscus is still blooming! The plant is quite large this year. I hate to see its season end.

The look on Wilbs face about says it all, doesn’t it? He hates it when the suitcases come out. I don’t think he was even considering coming along – haha!

Is it Thursday once again for you too? What have you been up to this week?

Haha–that look from Wilbs!! Looks like a fun little getaway trip. That book is a long one–audio version says 17 hours.

now I do believe I can say I have never seen Buffalo teeth for sale! I bet you had a great drive and saw lovely places.

The corners of my mouth just instantly curl upward when I see Wilbs. They never look approving when the suitcases come out do they? Mine like to curl up inside them, daring me to pack them. What beautiful places you have “up there” north of us! I enjoy your travel photos so much. That is one beautiful Hibiscus! Thanks for sharing your happy stuff with us. 🙂

Aww, poor Wilbs. And no one home to spoil him, either. Is he talking to you yet or are you being ignored?! It looks like it was a gorgeous weekend for a little vacay. Lovely loves! ~smile~ Roseanne

Poor Wilbs! That look does say it all. Our big fur baby hates it when we leave. Beautiful scenery despite the trip not going as planned! I’m ready for a road trip!!

I think that’s the same look my mom would give me for doing something she didn’t approve of. So glad you had a getaway before the weather gets too bad. Love the yellow hibiscus.

Well, Wilbs told you his thoughts about your trip for sure. Looks like a lovely one, and I think I might have had to buy some teeth for fun (although I guess it is a bit macabre). Good week here, heading into the sewing room to do some quilting!

What a beautiful hibiscus bloom! I’m struggling with my email this week but hopefully in a few more days it will all be sorted out, so until then I’ll try to think about lovely things like the hibiscus. 🙂

So glad you got to go on a road trip, and looks like some beautiful views along the way, too! I love it when you find signs that make you laugh, or go, “Huh?” Wilb just wanted to make sure you didn’t forget about him!

I’m not sure I’d be jumping to buy any buffalo teeth, but interesting anyway. Your hibiscus is gorgeous! My dogs get freaked out when a suitcase comes out, but Wilbur looks pretty cool about it all.

I do believe I have never seen such a good price on buffalo teeth. Well actually I have never seen buffalo teeth advertised at any price!! Hahaha. Hope you took advantage of this amazing deal.

That hibiscus is beautiful! Your scenery looks just like around here…trees beginning to turn. Makes a road trip so inviting. I have an almost 8 year old grandson who would definitely want a buffalo tooth!
