To Do Tuesday #17

Welcome to To Do Tuesday #17! I’m linking up today with Roseanne & Sue from Home Sewn by Us, the dynamic duo who host this fun weekly gathering where we share our weekly progress and goals.

Before I get started jabbering about what I’ve been working on, let’s look at my list from last week:

  • Finish binding vintage UFO – Done!
  • Ponder quilting for test quilt – Done!
  • Monthly Color Challenge Block – Done!
  • Monthly Churn Dash blocks – Done!
  • Use those matching threads & quilt that project – Done!

It was a good feeling to finish that vintage UFO quilt. You can read about it in this post. Here’s the photo, one more time.

Quilter's Village, a quilt kit by Buggy Barn Quilts, is my oldest UFO, finally finished - piecefulthoughts.com

The test quilt is with Connie right now, and she is working some magic on it with the quilting. I’ll tell you more about that in a later post, so keep watching for that.

My Monthly Color Challenge block is done, and my monthly churn dash blocks are done. I’ll show them to you tomorrow.

If you read my Monday post, you know I finished the project with the matching thread. Here’s that photo again, and you can read the post here

So, I had some extra time this week, and I got busy playing around a bit. I’m working on a very fun improv project, another one from the book, Inspiring Improv, by Nicholas Ball. More about that soon.

To Do Tuesday #17 - Tiny Drunkard's Path blocks, templates by bettycrockerass.com - piecefulthoughts.com

When I’m not working on the improv project, I’m stitching up these teensy little Drunkard’s Path units while I watch a show (or two, okay, three, maybe four) at night. I’m hand piecing them, and they are about 1-1/2″ unfinished. I’m really enjoying the hand piecing!

So what’s up for this week?

  • Finish improv, possibly
  • Finish 2019 Monthly Color Challenge top
  • Start test pattern

It’s highly possible that the only thing that will get done is the improv, since I’m thoroughly enjoying myself. But who knows? We’ll see!

What is your main project for the week? I’d like to hear about it!

Your week was very productive girl!! But I have to say I think you are crazy with the drunkard path block size!!!!!!!!!!!! You know I am just kidding right? You’ll have to share your method. No I am not going to make them, I am just curious.

Wendy you have been a busy girl! Congratulations on checking everything off of last week’s list.

you can’t go wrong with a Drunkards Path and those are little – I am not sure how many I have made over the years but it has been awhile and the last time I did big blocks. I just love the photo of the quilt next to the dirt path – they just look so well together

1.5 inches finished on those curve blocks – wow! I didn’t realize they were that tiny, Wendy. You got a lot accomplished this week – so you definitely should play with something new! I haven’t made my color challenge block yet, and your post reminded me of that, so I’d better add that to my list. Have a great day!

Excited to read you’re working on more improv. And those wee little drunkard’s path blocks, hmmm.

So impressed that you did the BCA templates and had a blast…Someday my list will accommodate more play but it is pretty extensive through the end of June…how does that happen. Good luck with your week.

Hi Wendy! The dynamic duo – wow, that’s cool. Sue is Bat Girl so I guess that makes me Robin. Good thing that name can be for a boy or girl! WOW – look at all of those Dones for last week! Ooh, those LITTLE drunkard’s path blocks are so cute. Good luck with this week’s list. Thanks for linking up this week. ~smile~ Roseanne
