To Do Tuesday #20

To Do Tuesday #20! Woohoo! Not only is this my 20th TDT post, but it is my 501st post. So a little woohoo seems fitting, yes? Thank you for following my blog, reading, leaving comments, and generally making my little corner of the world a happier place!

I had a long list last week. Here it is:

  • Improv Pillow top quilted
  • Doll Hospital Gowns*
  • Monthly Color Challenge blocks
  • June Churn Dash Blocks
  • Deli Geese blocks

Let’s see how I did.

Improv Pillow – Done!

To Do Tuesday #20 - My finished improv pillow, a practice block from the MidCentury Modern Curves class with Carole Lyles Shaw - piecefulthoughts.com

I haven’t done a full blog post on this yet, but will soon. This was a practice block using some of the techniques taught by Carole Lyles Shaw in her MidCentury Modern Curves online class.

Doll Hospital Gowns – Done!

Most of these little gowns were made with fabric from my stash. The first two, however, were from a recent fabric purchase, specifically for these gowns. It was on sale, and I couldn’t resist the fabric. I made as many as I could before I ran out of cute fabric and bias tape. These will be mailed to A Doll Like Me. If you want to make a few, you can find all the information with Bernie at Needle & Foot

Monthly Color Challenge Blocks – Done!

Notice that it’s blocks plural. I finished the June block as well as the July block. I’m a guest blogger for Patterns by Jen for the July block, so I needed to get it done ahead of time. You’ll see my June block in tomorrow’s post, so please stop back.

June Churn Dash Blocks – Done!

I went with a little blue on blue this month. My blue fabrics are the fewest in my stash, so I had to hunt for these!

Deli Geese Blocks – Done!

I am all caught up on my Deli Geese blocks. This is a block of the month that my quilt guild is doing. It’s been a challenge (and a lot less fun) to be doing these remotely, when we can’t join together and encourage one another to keep going. Here are my January through June blocks.

June

I didn’t finish all six pairs this week, by the way. January, February and April were done. I needed to finish March, adding the border pieces. Then I completed May and June. So I actually did two pairs and a finish on another.

While it looks like I was really busy, all of these projects really didn’t take that much time. Either that, or I was just enjoying myself while I was working on them. Possibly both! Anyway, it was a fun week.

So what about this week?

  • Finish charity quilt top
  • Finish a UFO from my stack

I’m going to keep it light this week and see what happens. I need to spend some time organizing my quilt space, so I’ll try to do a little of that each day.

If you stayed for this entire To Do Tuesday #20 post, thank you! It was a long one. I hope you each have a wonderful Tuesday full of sewing fun!

I’m linking up with the dynamic duo of Roseanne and Sue at Homesewn by Us for our weekly To Do Tuesday linky party. Thanks for hosting the linky, my friends!

Whoo hoo on your 501st post, Wendy! I’m glad I found your blog somewhere along the way! Your little hospital gowns are adorable – I’ve been planning to make some of those, too, as soon as I finish Centred. 🙂 Love the Deli Geese blocks – they are full of color!

  • Quilting is in my Blood

My goodness—you have been prolific, both in the number of blog posts you’ve written AND all everything you got done this week. Those doll gowns are adorable, the blocks are great, and that improv pillow is stunning! Congrats!

I think you managed to get a lot done. Those little gowns are adorable, especially the cones and popsicles.

Making progress is always a good thing. Looking forward to hearing about your improve pillow. It may make a nice set of placemats.

What fun you had! I need to make some of those doll gowns. Once again, I am going to look for my bias tape maker!!! Oh, no one commented on your block on PBJ…did you hear from Jen? Maybe send her a direct note. Mine is done and will be blogged and scheduled tonight!!

Hi Wendy! You had a lengthy list last week and you rocked it. Your pillow! I can’t wait to hear more about that. And those doll gown look so darn cute. Did you make your own bias tape? I have seen many bloggers who do but I don’t have that tool which makes it very easy. I surely could make some gowns to send along with the dolly quilts I have planned. I need to get on them! All of your blocks turned out great as well. Thanks so much for linking up today. ~smile~ Roseanne

Wow Wendy! What a productive week you had. All look great. I’m trying to get a feel for the size of the deli blocks. Small or large? Love the churn dash blocks. This will be a great quilt.

What a productive week – Thank you again for making so many doll gowns. Amy will be thrilled!!
You have reminded me that I haven’t done my Color Challenge block for June. Better get on it. 🙂

Wow you did awesome. Love those churn dash blocks (of course you knew I would). The pillow is fabulous (Carole was in my yin yoga class on Insta this am, not sure for how long – maybe she thought I was doing something quilty lol). Will be back to see June and July PBJ blocks!
