To Do Tuesday 56

Tuesday snuck up on me and I almost missed this To Do Tuesday 56 post. Here’s my list from last week:

  • Finish Endeavourers Challenge quilt – Done
  • Quilt the Black & White improv quilt – Done
  • Decide how to quilt the panel quilt(s) – not quite

My Endeavourers challenge quilt is all done. I cannot wait until May 1st so I can show it to you! I can’t even give a sneak peek without giving it away!

You may have seen this photo on my Instagram feed showing the quilting in process on the Improv Black & White quilt. It is done and waiting for a faced binding.

Here is a photo of the panel I’ll be working on this coming month. In this photo you can see how long and narrow it is, measuring about 52 inches.

I did a little ripping and cutting off the bottom row, the panel looks like this:

The panel after I changed the size - piecefulthoughts.com

This size will work so much better, and I’ll be able to hang it in our bookcase. It’s a bit dated, but I do love the deep, vibrant colors. I’m not sure how I will quilt this yet. I may outlines the houses and trees, etc. so they stand out a bit. I’m still thinking about the house backgrounds and borders. This should be easy enough to finish by the end of April.

My list for this week:

  • Bind the improv quilt
  • Baste the panel and begin quilting
  • Test Block

I’m linking my To Do Tuesday 56 post with ChrisKnits today for the To Do Tuesday linky party.

Hi Wendy! You’re going to hang the panel in your bookcase? What do you have hanging there now? I think the panel challenge is an easy one, in theory. But for those of us who have quilting anxiety it’s just not that easy, is it? I don’t know how to quilt my panel either, which is probably why it hasn’t been. HAHA! That picture of Wilbs is adorbs. He’s right there, isn’t he?!! He’s such a handsome guy. {{Hugs}} Great job on your list this week! ~smile~ Roseanne

cute panel! I have never had luck with them the ones I have received ( I never buy them) have always been crooked.

Coffee time this morning, so I am browsing very quickly a few blogs;) I like your panel, cutting the bottom two off was definitely meant to be.

Sounds like a fun week, Wendy! I’m working on my panel challenge for our guild (last year’s challenge that didn’t happen!!) this week. Then quilting will be a whole other issue! I like the shorter version of the panel. Looking forward to seeing your project May 1st – here we go wishing our lives away! LOL

Wilbs you have such pretty green eyes! I like the panel shortened, too. Who cares if it’s a little dated if it makes you happy? I like the deep colors, too. Styles come and go so quickly, who can keep up? I don’t like to get new stuff all the time so I’ve given up. LOL. Luckily, I prefer traditional styles anyway. They may not always be in but I feel like they’re never really out.

Oh, what a tease you are…I mean Wilbur; but you too! That little bit of black and white quilting, the report on the endeavors challenge! But I do like the panel and the way you adjusted it to suit your space. It will be nice to see the quilting bring it to life.

How easily the words “I may outlines the houses and trees, etc. so they stand out a bit” slip from your lips – those words make my stomach hurt 😀 Love that house panel! I found a photo of the house I grew up in the other day and want to figure out a way to preserve a likeness of the image in a quilt.
    Wilbur! (heart eyes)

Your B&W Beauty is almost done! Woo Hoo! I love the shortened panel quilt. It seems more “balanced” to my eyes. I love seeing Wilbs when he is in Supervosor Mode!

Such a tease! To work on things we have to wait to see. LOL. Thanks for linking up with To-Do! Good luck on next week’s goals.
