To Do Tuesday #9

Good morning, my friends! I’m back with To Do Tuesday #9, after spending the last week upgrading my blog. It has a new look, and is still a work in progress, so please be patient with me as I continue to get it completed. I’m linking up today with my quilting buddy, Roseanne from Home Sewn by Us. If you’ve not joined in on the To Do Tuesday link up, you should! I find it has helped me stay on task for the week and get things done.

I thought I’d show you who I visited my first evening in Florida. We took a sunset stroll with the crocs and cranes. That croc was a big guy, about 11 feet long. The crane paid no attention to him whatsoever.

To Do Review

The last time I posted, I had three items on my to do list. Let’s take a look at how well I did.

Improv Triangles – I haven’t made much progress on this, only sewing a few more triangle units. I still need to get this quilt top sewn together.

Travel Sewing Project – I ended up taking my Sashiko sewing project with me, and you can see my progress in the photo at the top of this post. I have made a little more progress since this photo was taken.

Clean Sewing Room – This was done before I left, and it was delightful to come home to a tidy space!

To Do This Week

Bind Two Quilts – My Squiggles and Mt. Hood quilts are back from Connie, who worked her longarm magic. Now it’s my turn to add the bindings and get them finished.

Finish Minnesota Mystery Quilt – All that is left to finish this quilt top are the two borders, so I will make that my goal this week.

My version of the 2019 Minnesota Mystery quilt, designed by Suzy Webster. I still need to add borders. - piecefulthoughts.com

That’s it for my week and To Do Tuesday #9. I’m going to keep it simple while I try to navigate this new blog.

Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate each one of you and have missed connecting with you throughout the week! Feel free to leave a comment. Let me know what you’ve been working on while we are all tucked in at home!

Since I work every day, this being at home certainly has given a great opportunity to tend to UFOs. Oh my it is a great feeling.
I love the goal setting. I’m in.

Love the sashiko project – it looks like it was the perfect travel project! Oh my on the croc and crane in the same photo…it doesn’t look like the crane is even worried one bit. How fun to have two quilts ready bind! That is always my favorite hand stitching.

Wendy, I love your mystery quilt — the colors are so vibrant! I’m planning on updating my blog also; I’m still in the planning stage and it looks like a lot of work…I’m hoping to do it myself. I do love your layout–very clean and crisp!

I love how your sashiko project is coming along. And I can’t believe how blasé that crane is in that pic with the crocodile! Glad you’re getting your blog sorted out and are blogging again. Have a great day, Mary.

Hi Wendy! Your new-and-improved blog looks nice. Hmm, I wonder why the crane wasn’t worried about the crocodile at all?!! Maybe there’s not enough meat on them for the croc’s effort. Your Sashiko project looks fabulous – I just LOVE the addition of the yellow thread. Good luck on this week’s list and thank you so much for linking up today. ~smile~ Roseanne

Testing testing to see if I’m blocked or have to provide 16 forms if ID in order to leave a comment-hey long time no chat, right?

I love the colors in your Minnesota Mystery quilt – it’s gorgeous! The blog is looking great Wendy. It’s a lot of work to change it up, isn’t it? Good luck on your list this week!

How do you like the Shashiko? I’ve been wanting to try it but haven’t yet. Are you using a pre-printed panel?

  • Rebecca Grace

Your Minnesota Mystery quilt looks fabulous, like a blazing sunset reflected in the snow! I don’t know what your blog looked like before but it looks nice and clean now, easy to read, and the plain background really lets your work shine in your photos.

Minnesota Mystery is a beauty, very fetching. Hopefully that crane fared better than a moth I saw last night. A new very large species I hadn’t seen before hanging out with the geckos. I thought perhaps it was too large to be at risk, but when I came back for a better look it was already halfway down a lizard. So, bye bye moth. Thanks for linking up your new blog in progress at the Chameleon’s colour and inspiration party.
