To Do Tuesday

It’s To Do Tuesday once again, and I’m joining up with Texas Quilt Gal for her To Do Tuesday linky party. I should’ve had this post written last night, but I’m sneaking it in this morning. We’ve been a little distracted here at Pieceful Thoughts, but it hasn’t been by a squirrel! More on that in a minute, but first let’s see how I’ve done with my list from my last post.

I had three projects to work on:

The Endeavourers Challenge – Done!

The Polar Bear Plunge Blog Hop – Done! You can see my post here. The Hop is still going on, so check out some of the other quilters’ projects, too!

SAHRR Border Two – Done! I had so much fun creating the diamonds for this round!

I snuck in a quick tutorial on how to sew improv wavy strips.

If you missed it, you can see that post here

I finished this cross stitch project. I used up an entire spool of Aurifil floss. This piece measures 5-1/2″ square and it’s done on 16 count Aida.

The design is Winter Birds by Modern Folk Embroidery. I used Aurifil floss #4140.

Cat block designed by Sandra Healy Designs - piecefulthoughts.com

I did a quick pattern test of this block for Sandra Healy Designs. Who does that cat make you think of??? Of course, I had to make him look like Wilbs.

So I mentioned a distraction. We have a new addition to our family. Our daughter got a pointer lab pup. Meet Tundra.

Yes, he’s adorable, and he is full of energy. What does Wilbs think, you ask? Well, you’ll have to stop back on Thursday to see.

My list for this week is pretty low key. I’m getting a booster today and not sure how much that will affect me. So the list is short:

  • Photograph Challenge quilt and write post
  • SAHRR Border Three

And that’s it for To Do Tuesday at Pieceful Thoughts! Happy sewing, all!

Your RR looks sooo bright and crisp–beautiful! And I love that little kitty block. (I’ve been thinking about doing a little quilt of Tasha to hang on my quilt room wall. Hmmm.). Ah, there’s the widdle puppy!!! Tundra’s a cutey! How’s the training going?

I hope your booster shot will not leave you feel sick – but a good thing to get it. Cute dog! hope the pets get along. I love your quilted piece

Well, I love that cat block. And the puppy is adorable. Hope Wilbur doesn’t have his nose too out of joint.

Done, done and done! Wow! All that plus a new puppy to play with – HA! However, he has stiff competition for true recognition (notice I didn’t say attention?) with Wilbs – in real life and in quilty life!
BTW: thanks again for the tutorial…I’m gathering my appropriate scrap strips as we ‘comment’!

The cat block does indeed remind me of Wilbs! Tundra looks so sweet and innocent, haha. Your improv diamonds are sparkling!

Hi Wendy! Tundra?!! As in the frozen that you are seeing plenty of! OMG – isn’t he a little sweetheart. I sure hope that Wilbs doesn’t get his nose out of joint over the new addition. Wilbs will always be my favorite kitty. You changed the thread in your cross stitch piece, didn’t you?!! It finished just fab as did your test kitty block that does remind us of Wilbs. Can’t wait for the Thursday update!! {{Hugs}} a bunch. ~smile~ Roseanne

What a great post, so full of fantastic photos and accomplishments. I love the cat block (and yes it does look like Wilbs) and Tundra looks so innocent. Heard/read that puppies have a cuteness stage that makes adults fall in love with and adopt them. But, after the cuteness stage…watch out! Shoes, clothes, etc. all fair game! Wishing you an easy time with the booster.

This is going to be such a cool quilt, Wendy! Love the cross stitch. And that puppy is just adorable – such a cutie!! I hope he and Wilbs learn to love each other like my grandcats and dog! The kitty block is cute too! Have a great week!

You got a lot done, despite the adorable distraction. I think that this is the time to confess that I am actually a dog person. That’s not to say I don’t find Wilbur and his antics fascinating. Another confession: I thought the cat piece was a squirrel at first glance. Oops. Don’t tell Wilbur.

That is a beautiful vibrant quilt, Wendy!
And Winter Birds is a little beauty. It makes me rethink these very large pieces I am drawn to.
Tundra is a great name for a beauty…it would be special to me having lived in Pangnirtung in the Arctic tundra for a number of happy years. Yes the beautiful cat is very Wilbs like.

Beautiful SAHRR and cross-stitch Wendy. Your cat test is just the cutest and definitely reminds me of Wilbs. I’m in love with the puppy. Good luck on the list this week. Hope you didn’t have a reaction to the booster 😄

Can’t wait to see what Wilbs thinks about Tundra – he is just so cute and irresistible. It would be hard to do anything other than hold him. I really love the way your SAHRR is turning out! What will you do with your completed Winter Birds? Love that cat block!
Thank you for linking up with To Do Tuesday!
