Beothuk Star Progress

It’s time to get my wiggle on and show you my Beothuk Star Progress today. I need to link up before it closes, and I’m almost late to the party.

I had all the pieces cut and sewn.

I’m ready to rock ‘n roll, so my machine started hummin’. Here’s my first four blocks.

And then I finished the second four.

I considered finishing the next set of eight, but decided to wait. Gotta pace myself, y’know! Besides, I was itching to follow another teensy, tiny squirrel.

I recently ordered the book, That Handmade Touch, by Svetlana Sotak. If you follow her on Instagram, you know about her beautiful work. Her book has such a lovely asthetic. The projects are all relatively easy to do, and her instructions are so clear and well done. I was itching to make one of the projects, but didn’t have all the things I needed for most of them. However, I did have fabric and stuffing to make this cute little fish for Wilbur. BigJ caught him napping with it late one evening. Awww . . .

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, whether you were sewing, watching Quilt Market fun on your social media feed, or just relaxing.

Speaking of Quilt Market — my brother and sister-in-law (Steve & Nita) went to Quilt Market. While she was doing the business stuff, he was shopping for me (I didn’t ask him to, he’s just cool like that). They stopped by on Sunday to drop off a nice, big bag of goodies. Oh my, my, my — am I ever going to have fun. What’s a few more squirrels to join the party, right??? Yes, I’ll give you some peeks soon!

Linking up today with Sandra at mmm!Quilts and Beth at Cooking Up Quilts.

Love that fish….I know a couple of cats who would love it also. I also really love the fabrics in your blocks.

Awwww…looks like Wilbur loves his fish. I once made a frog for Mike’s dog back when we were dating. The dog was so appreciative, and it was so funny.

Hi Wendy! Another teensy, tiny squirrel huh?!! I’m already in deep with one I saw on Sandra’s website – I’m going to not read any further. Even if it is teensy and tiny . . . yeah, I’ll read on. And how cute is Wilbur?? Holding his little fish??!! And an unasked for bag of fabric from Quilt Market?! That is one NICE brother. ~smile~ Roseanne

Wow! I wish my brother brought me quilty gifts! Wilbur sure looks happy with his stitched toy. And your star blocks look super! I’m behind on mine now because I’ve got the machine set up for free motion quilting and I’m too lazy to switch back to my piecing foot 🙂

Those Beothuk blocks are great. I can see how you’d want to make just one more, and then another… But you have to look after your loved ones, and that fish is perfect. Have fun with your goodies.
