I Like Thursdays #2

It’s Thursday (where has the week gone?) and it’s time for this week’s I Like Thursdays #2. So let’s get to it.

Quilty Likes

I like the antique bobbins my daughter gave me. I just found this little bin to hold them. It’s just right for the shelf in my quilt room.

Right next to that is a little gnome party girl that my daughter made for me. I love all of her little party hats! Makes me smile whenever I see it. (Stick with me long enough and you might actually see a little quilt on the quilt holder on the bottom right of the photo – haha)

Right around the corner from those two things, is another thing I like — a little cat pin cushion my brother bought me. Wilbur and I are both big fans of this little fella. However, Wilbur loves him too much and he often ends up on the floor.

Foodie Likes

On busy days, I like one pot meals. This is one of my favorites. Chicken breasts seasoned with a favorite spice, and some of my favorite veggies chunked up and seasoned as well. Add a few pats of butter, cover, and bake at 425 for 45 mins. to an hour. Yum!

Flowery Likes

I like my hydrangea tree. This year it is so heavy with blooms it’s hiding the little yew underneath. Can you see the yew?

The flowers are about the size of a large cantaloupe. They are so pretty. I’m waiting to see if they tinge with pink as they’ve done other years.

Lovely City Likes

I like this view over the walking bridge in our city. The flowers are so pretty, and it just beckons you to walk across.

As you walk up that bridge and turn to the side, there is a pretty view of the falls. I like my pretty little city.

Good Morning Wendy! Your city looks so pretty and welcoming. I’d want to cross that bridge as well as pause and enjoy the falls. I can see why Wilbur is interested in that kitty pincushion. It is, after all, just his size and those whiskers are rather taunting him. Fun likes for today! ~smile~ Roseanne

I love those antique bobbins – when we travel I love spotting places that would be added to my list of likes if I lived in those areas

I love my little town too! I’m going to make the recipe you gave, what is the spice you use? I like that my roses are blooming. Hugs,

I enjoyed seeing your likes today, Wendy! The gnome with all her party hats is so fun! That one pot meal sounds like something we would like – I’m going to try it. Pretty view of the river and bridge, too. Happy Thursday!

    Happy Thursday!
Love your antique bobbins!! And the one pot meal looks so yummy!
“I like” this idea of looking around and noting all the blessings we have! Very encouraging!
I like summer so much so it’s hard for me to bring in the fall season but I can choose to look at the blessings and of course the beautiful fall colors are indeed just that!
I like our new deck too, that’s just about finished and will enjoy some gatherings yet outside.

I also love one dish meals, cat pin cushions, bridges into a pretty city, and LOVE hydrangeas! Miss my blue ones back in MD. LeeAnna

A great post, Wendy; I enjoyed all your likes and I concur. I love meals that are in one pot like that and roasted veggies are so good. This was a great year for hydrangeas here in Ontario as well; they seemed to enjoy the very hot and humid July. Mine turn pink too with the cooler overnight temps that will be coming. Neat things in your sewing room.
