Little Progress

There’s been little progress on anything quilt-related this week at Pieceful Thoughts. I have gotten a few things finished, but most of the week has been puppy sitting while our daughter is on vacation with friends. Wilbs view on this whole affair is pretty much summed up in the above pic.

So while Tundra is voicing his disapproval at my lack of paying attention to him while I write this post, let’s take a look at my list from last week:

  • Order batting – Not Yet
  • WWoC Blog Hop Project – Done
  • Try Something New – Done

I’m going to buy batting locally, rather than order online. Once I’m past this week with puppy sitting and doctor visits, I’m going to take a day and visit some quilt shops and other places I enjoy.

My project for the Wonderful World of Color Blog Hop is almost finished. I need to stitch down the binding, take photos and get the post written. In the end, I decided to stay with the project as is; after a little time away from it, I decided it wasn’t so bad.

Are you participating in the blog hop? If you are, I look forward to seeing your project! If not, I hope you follow along for some colorful inspiration!

I did try something new this week. I made an Easy Does It bag, a free pattern from ByAnnie (no affiliate).

You can read all the details (and get the link to the free pattern) behind this fun little bag in this post. Every now and then, I enjoy making a bag. This pattern was new to me, and now that I’ve made one, I’ll keep this pattern in mind for future projects.

This Week at Pieceful Thoughts

I expect this week will be another one of little progress, but we’ll see. Here’s my list for the week:

  • Get started on my Endeavourers Challenge quilt due May 1st
  • Decide on pattern for the LQS challenge quilt due June 1st
  • Finish binding WWoC project, take pictures and write post.

I’m Hosting TGIFF this week!

I'm hosting TGIFF this week, April 8th - piecefulthoughts.com

I’m hosting Thank Goodness It’s Finished Friday – or TGIFF – this week. I hope you stop by and see my finish. It’s a pre-pandemic UFO, and I’m excited to finally have it finished.

That’s my little progress for this Tuesday. I’m joining in on the To Do Tuesday linky party hosted by Texas Quilt Gal. I hope you pop over to see what Linda and the others have on their lists for this week! It should be inspirational!

Happy Stitching!

  • Quilting is in my Blood

I can definitely relate to the experience of not really liking something I’ve made or quilting I’ve done and taking some time away from it and deciding that it’s just fine. I look forward to reading your Wonderful World of Color Blog Hop post. Tundra sounds like he can be a little demanding (but I know he is also adorable!). Have a great day!

Do the Tundra and Wilbs get along with each other? You’re ahead of me on the WWofC hop, I just started working on putting mine together.

  • Emily Leachman

I’m sorry Wilbs is not enthused about your canine guest! I understanding not liking something at first, but sometimes time away makes us see it differently; glad that happened with your world of color project. Hope you have a great day!

Put Tundra in his cage and go play for an hour, you deserve the therapy!! You are getting good at hosting these linky parties:)

I’m so used to ordering all quilting supplies on line that I barely like to actually go in a “real” quilt shop – or other anymore — but sometimes you just have to — of course it might help if I had an actual quilt shop near by

I understand about puppies now. We recently added to 2 and sadly my sewing has been abandoned.

Love the little Nope, not today quilt. That would be great to have on hand to hang on my door–as needed! Good to see you have a fun day planned! I love your little bag–esp that it can hold so much (would be a great toiletry bag for travel)–and the kitty fabric is exceptional. Fun! I say I never make little bags but that one would be a perfect gift for my sisters.

Poor Wilbs!!! I’m sure he’ll be back to normal when you’re no longer dog sitting!
Love your Easy Does it bag! And good for you, trying something new! 🙂
I’ll be back on Friday for TGIFF, with a finish, I hope! 🙂

That’s a great mini quilt, and I thought of Wilbs when I saw it. So I guess he’s not having the week of his dreams either huh? Boy do I get it, puppies require so much attention. I sometimes wonder if we will ever have peace in our home again. 😉 Looking forward to your Blog Hop project, and I’ll try to return with a TGIF post. I’m toying with the idea of signing up for a stint at hosting TGIF.
Thank you for sharing with To Do Tuesday!

Hi Wendy! While you may not have done a whole lot of sewing and/or quilting, your week puppy sitting sounds fun to me! Well, except that Wilbs isn’t thrilled. I imagine you’ll both be happy to get back to your normal routine. That bag kind of reminds me of the shoe totes I used to use many moons ago. I love the fabric you chose for it!! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

You are doing pretty well considering Tundra is there! I don’t think I have a finish unless I hurry up on a table runner I made on retreat tomorrow. Good luck with your next few days with Mr. T!

  • Kathy Swallows

Puppy sitting does take lots of time and energy. You checked off a couple of things, so the week wasn’t a bust. Good luck with this week’s list. Hopefully the week has been calmer.

What no puppy pictures? I’m going to check back posts and see if you added pics of an adorable puppy. I hear you on not liking something and letting rest for a while and realize it is just fine the way it is. I’ll look for your post on WWoC. I’ve downloaded that bag pattern but never made it. Maybe one day.
