Pieceful Life

Thursday Thoughts

It is a lazy Thursday morning here at Pieceful Thoughts. I’m dropping in to share my Thursday Thoughts with the rest of the group over at Not Afraid of Color. You can find the full list of our group there. On Thursdays, we share things we’ve noticed throughout the week that make us smile. If you could use a few more things to smile about, stop over and read the posts. It will brighten your day!

Pretty hibiscus after the rain - piecefulthoughts.com

We were able to get most of our plants potted and in the ground just before a few days of rain. I like the colors in this pretty hibiscus!

I might have been having some fun acquiring fabric this week. My solids stash has increased a bit. The best part of the acquisition has been shopping with friends this week. It’s so good to be together again!

Speaking of fabric, have you heard that Bernie from Needle & Foot is retiring and closing her Etsy shop? She has some sales going on right now, in case you want to acquire some fabric too. Click on the link for more info and to go to her shop.

The Weekly Wilbs

Meanwhile, Wilbs is pondering his Thursday Thoughts while soaking up some sun in our kitchen window. He thinks it’s the best seat in the house.

That’s my Thursday Thoughts for today. I hope you all enjoy a day of sunshine and sewing!

Oh my gosh! That hibiscus is just gorgeous. I like the solids you’ve chosen. I bought one of those big boxes of solids some years back, and I’m still working on them. I don’t think they come packaged that way any more, but I probably have solids to last me the rest of my life now.

I love hibiscus…and Wilbs looks so comfy and enjoying the view! Love the solids. Thanks for the heads up on Bernie. I think I may need to add to my stash too! LOL

I think Wilbs knows it is the best seat! Nice addition of the solids. I can’t wait to be able to do in person shopping, let alone with other people.

It was that kind of day here yesterday; it poured all day. We went for a little drive along the lakeshore and wow, is it ever GREEN everywhere, so lovely. Fabric shopping in person with friends, ahh who would’ve ever thought it would fill us with such joy?

Such a pretty hibiscus and lovely flowers. So many of you talk of rain. I’d love to see some here! And Wilbs in the kitchen window…must make him feel like he is outside while still safely indoors. Enjoy your week.

Reading your post certainly brightened up my cold winter’s evening. That yellow hibiscus is beautiful, the set of solid fabrics is inspiring, and as for Wilbur sunning himself — bliss!

Hi Wendy! I love seeing Wilbs enjoying the sunshine or even the napping photo. No mischief shots today – he can’t always be up to tricks! I love all those solids you picked up and shopping with friends makes it all the more fun and special. I wonder what they might be used for? Happy Thursday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne

That’s a beautiful flower, and a really pretty grouping of solid fabrics, too! Do you have plans for them, or just stocking up? I’ve bought a lot from Bernie in the last year and a half – I’ll miss her shop! But definitely happy for her. Looks like Wilbs (and you, too) have a wonderful view there!

  • Colette

Oh the hibiscus is gorgeous! I love your solids too. I have been acquiring some too. Lots of shops are closing/retiring. Sigh. Wilbs looks so comfy.

  • Kathy Swallows

The hibiscus is so pretty. Oh to be a cat on a sunny day soaking up the rays coming through the window. We should all be more like cats, they’ve got the relaxation thing down. Have a great weekend.

  • Jocelyn Thurston

Well Wilbs would know all about best spots in the house to keep an eye on outside! He chose well. Love adding to the stash and I always forget about the solids. Those are gorgeous you picked and especially how great to do it with friends!

  • Helen

If I’d have been sent to the store to buy solid fabrics for you, those are the colors I would have known you’d want and bought them for you!
Yes, yes, yes! It is so good to be together with people again!
    Buff says, “Hi, Wilbs!”

That hibiscus is gorgeous! Your solids are fabulous. I acquired a few over the weekend….and some batting just as I had no big pieces. Need to finish getting through all this stuff then I can concentrate on shopping at Bernie’s!
