To Do Tuesday #5

How can it be To Do Tuesday #5 already? My days have all kind of blended into one over this past weekend, so things are sneaking up on me. I’m joining in with my quilty friend, Roseanne of Home Sewn by Us, for her To Do Tuesday linky party today.

Last week, I had three things I planned to get done.

Modern Quilt Guild Swap Mini – Done! I took some photos, packed it up, and sent it on its way. I’ve already received my mini from my swap partner, and it is so cool! I’ll show it to you once she receives hers from me.

Awesome Ocean SAL – Are you sewing along with Kathleen McMusing and this fun quilt project? I finished one of my blocks for my guest post, so I count this a “done” for this week. The other block will be finished today or tomorrow, as time allows.

Dust Off a Book Quilt Top – No progress on this, which is okay. I still have time.

I have had so much quilting going on that cannot be shown at this point, so I have no quilty photo for you today. However, I can show you this pretty view I had as we drove into town yesterday. After our weekend snowstorm, everything was frosty. A winter wonderland.

To Do This Week

Deli Geese Presentation – I have been so focused on getting the steps of these blocks together that I have completely forgotten to take photos. I’ll try to post some soon. I present the tutorial on Thursday evening, so I’ll be practicing for the next couple of days.

Awesome Ocean SAL – I need to make one more block and get my post written, as well as complete the latest blocks. I’ll be working on this today and tomorrow.

February Churn Dash Blocks – This is my personal block of the month, so I need to choose a color and get three churn dash blocks done. You can see my January blocks here. This is a fun, relaxing project and I’m using my stash. What color do you think I should use for February?

That’s my To Do Tuesday #5 list for the week! Maybe I’ll get them done this time around. We’ll see. Thanks, Roseanne, for hosting the linky and keeping me on task!

All your secret sewing has gotten me wondering…. What is the story on the church dash, just your own project or is there a group thing..not that I can add another but I am working on an idea about my stash and so am curious. I owe you pics of Marcia Derse fabrics to see which ones you want!

Beautiful snow pic! Will watch for the geese pictures to show up. :o) Is it me or are churn dashes making a come-back? It’s funny how they were never a fav with me but the more I see them, the more I like them these days and want to make them. I currently have a pattern printed and hanging out in my sewing room even. What about coordinating the colors to the month? Ie, red/white for Feb, green/yellow for March, green/red for Dec. etc Either way, you’ll prob end up fitting all the colors in at some point and they’ll all look so cute. Good luck on your to-do’s!

Hi Wendy! Oooh, what a pretty picture. I love it when the trees are all covered and it’s kind of a snow fog. I hope you got your car fixed – you must have since you’re driving. I am looking forward to seeing your minis – both the one you’ve made and the one you received. Hmm, I wonder what the Deli Geese presentation is for? I think your churn dash blocks should be made with some bright pink fabrics. Or red . . . Thank you for linking up this week. ~smile~ Roseanne

Gosh Wendy, if I had your view of snow I would be looking outside and never get any work done. I will watch for your pictures of projects completed. I enjoy seeing your posts. Have a good week.

We have snow here today too but yours looks colder and is much prettier. Glad you’ve been really productive lately and can’t wait to see your projects when you’re able to share them. If I were doing a project with a different color each month I’d lean towards red for February.

You have so much going on! I spent the morning catching up on a lot of your posts and there are so many projects there that I would like to do as well, especially the Dust Off Your Books one. So many good ideas!

Thanks! So far, I’m staying ahead of schedule. 😊 There are always more projects than we have time for, right?

Look at that snow!!! It’s gorgeous from afar…as I’m sitting here sipping tea with a blanket across my lap! Where do you live? The weather looks perfect for staying home and sewing though!
