Wednesday Tease

I’m going to tease you a bit today. I have hit a bit of a sewing slump the last few days, not really sure what I felt like working on, but having plenty of things to do. My plan for this week was to:

  • Get my fabric cut for the Postcards from Sweden QAL
  • Draw more designs for the 30 Quilt Designs Challenge 2018
  • Do some additional pages for the 365 Days of Art Challenge by Powered by Quilting
Postcards from Sweden QAL

I snapped a quick photo tonight, just so you could see my fabric. They are still folded together; I haven’t even taken the time to pet them yet. That’s coming, soon. Then I’ll post more pictures. The colors are so bright and fun! I look forward to making this quilt!

365 Days of Art Challenge

I’m also behind on 365 Days of Art. I’ll be bringing that with me this weekend so I can get caught up.

30 Quilt Designs Challenge 2018

I have been enjoying drawing up designs, and that has been occupying much of my time lately. I realized I just wanted to make one of them. So I put everything else aside and just had some fun.

This was my morning post on Instagram yesterday, saying that I was really tempted to make this.

I’ve named this design Chain Gang. I had all good intentions about making this one yesterday. Once I began figuring out the block sizes of the quilt, I realized I didn’t have enough of the fabric I wanted to use. So this is on the back burner for now.

The Teaser

Meanwhile, I’ve been working on The Quilter’s Planner Sampler Quilt and the sew along on Instagram. Here’s the block for February.

I had so much fun making this block with the fresh teal and turquoise fabrics, that it prompted me to draw up another design. That design is the quilt I worked on today, but it’s not done yet. I haven’t even posted the design on Instagram yet. So here’s a little teaser.

This quilt is a simple little design, but I’m having so much fun with it. Maybe I have our upcoming Florida trip on my mind and that’s why I like those ocean blue colors? Or it could be I’m just ready to be done with winter? Both? Who knows! Anyway, I should have the quilt top finished tomorrow (it’s a mini) and, if things go well, a finished quilt on Friday. So come back and see!
