Two and Four Flimsy

I have my Two and Four Flimsy to show you today. I joined Katy Quilts and Wedding Dress Blue for their Two and Four QAL, and I thoroughly enjoyed this project.

As you can see from the photo above, I chose earthy, autumn colors, pulling from my stash of Kim Diehl, Jo Morton and other reproduction fabrics. Looking closely, however, you would find a renegade batik and even a Christmas print in the mix!

I chose to make the smaller version along with Deanna of Wedding Dress Blue. I have to admit, at each stage of the QAL – the cutting and the sewing, there were times I thought I’d be cutting and sewing forever – but those times passed and soon the quilt was done.

It was windy today, so I knew I wouldn’t be able to get a photo without a quilt holder. So I waited until hubs got home and after dinner we hustled out the door for a few quick photos. The wind was cooperative, thankfully!

Here’s a quick photo on our full-size guest bed. This photo shows the rich colors a bit better than the outdoor photo.

The top measures approximately 60″ x 80″. I plan to add a rich brown minky fabric for the backing. Wilbs and I are looking forward to snuggling under this quilt later this winter!

I’m so glad I finished the Two and Four Flimsy so I can link up with Katy Quilts, and so I can show it to you today.

Thanks, Katy and Deanne, for a fun quilt along!

Happy Friday, everyone!
