November Monthly Color Challenge Block

I have my November Monthly Color Challenge Block to share with you today. The 2021 Monthly Color Challenge, hosted by Patterns by Jen, is almost done! One more month, and it will be time to get those blocks into a quilt top! If you haven’t picked up the pattern for this month, you can still download it free (until the end of the month) at Patterns by Jen

This month’s color was inspired by blueberries. We are big fans of blueberries here at Pieceful Thoughts and eat them throughout the year. (We buy them in bulk and freeze them.) Our favorite way to eat them – over homemade granola with vanilla yogurt.

This year, I’ve chosen to make the 6-inch version of the blocks. I found a navy print and paired it with some Grunge. The block went together quickly.

Just one more block to go, now that my November Monthly Color Challenge block is done! I can’t wait to put this quilt top together. How about you? Are you sewing along with us?

Blueberries are great on cereal, yogurt, in muffins or just plain, you can’t beat them! You picked just the right fabrics for your block. I am curios what is that item with the ladies head in your photo?

I do blueberries the same as you with granola and yogurt. I buy big bags of them if I hadn’t been able to get them in early summer at the farm. I hope this summer I will have some of pick off my bushes!

It’s pretty. I can’t wait to see you put your quilt together either. It’s going to be very pretty.

Hi Wendy! A bowlful of YUM! Those blueberries look delicious. The navy paired with the Grunge fabric looks fab. Do you have something planned for your blocks? I can’t wait to see them all together. ~smile~ Roseanne

Too cute photo vignette! I see a stiletto made by Rose! And yes, love, love blueberries! We had a bush in our yard in Tokyo and got 80 or more cups every summer.

Pretty! I have a new favorite way to have blueberries. I picked (way too many) quarts in June. I put them in the blender and froze them into ice cubes. Now I enjoy a “mixed drink” in the evenings…. Blueberry ice cubes, splash of cranberry juice, can of sparkling mineral water. Yum!

I do love blueberries and your block is perfect to represent them, Wendy! It also makes me want to collect more Grunge – I don’t think I have anything in blue like that. We’re going to be near my favorite Grunge-stocking LQS tomorrow, so I might just have to stock up!
