Santa Fe

We are back from our road trip to Santa Fe, a work trip for BigJ and fun for me. Driving along the old Santa Fe Trail is a long drive with views of vast wide open space. Once we arrived in Santa Fe and got settled into our casa, we went for an evening walk down along the Plaza.

It is early spring in Santa Fe. The air is still cool, but flowers and trees are beginning to bloom, adding more beauty to the Santa Fe sunsets.

The weather for the first part of the week was warm and sunny, reaching just into the 70’s. By week’s end, the temps were in the high 30’s, low 40’s with gusty winds and little moments of snow. Even on the cool days, we enjoyed sunshine while shopping at an eclectic outdoor market.

One evening we took a drive out to one of our favorite restaurants. The views along the way were spectacular.

Of course, we visited several of our favorite restaurants. This is a stop at The Shed, to have blue corn enchiladas at the request of a friend.

I even managed a little bit of sewing, giving English Paper Piecing a try. I’m making the Pollen Pillow, a sample of an EPP pattern designed by Kitty Wilkin. This is the center of the pillow; the next step is to stitch five rosettes to this center piece.

While I was gone, I did read your blogs, but I couldn’t comment on them. I thought I had gotten my phone set up to do that, but it didn’t work. I enjoyed keeping up with you and seeing your projects!

As much as we enjoy road trips, it’s good to be home!
