Thursday Thoughts

I have some Thursday thoughts to share with you today as I join up with LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color. There’s quite a gathering of us who join in each week, and you can find all of our posts listed by following the link to LeeAnna’s page.

So many of us are wondering if warm weather and sunshine will ever come to stay. We know it will, but our patience is wearing thin, right? As I’m writing this post, it is Wednesday evening, and it has been overcast and rainy most of the day. So I posted the pretty flowers in the above photo, just to share a little sunshine with you.

When I’m not quilting, or reading a book, I’m often spending time caring for Tundra, our daughter’s puppy. He is now 20 weeks old and around 30 pounds. He is a handsome guy, and pretty well-behaved. He has grown quite a bit since the last photo I posted!

I find it amusing that Tundra and Wilbs are the same coloring. And they match my rug (now if Tundra would just stop trying to chew my rug, all would be good)!

I just finished this little cross stitch, and I’m very pleased with how it turned out. I wanted to try a color other than blue or red. I think it worked!

Nordic Snowflakes, pattern designed by Amanda Rowe - piecefulthoughts.com

The finished design is 4″ square. The pattern is called Nordic Snowflakes, designed by Amanda Rowe (@amandajrowe61). I stitched mine on 18 ct. aida cloth and used Aurifil floss (#2890).

I finished a few books, too. I’m still reading through the William Kent Krueger Cork O’Connor series, and just finished Northwest Angle. I also found this book while browsing on Amazon. It was a very quick read, but enjoyable. It is a series; I haven’t decided if I like it enough to read any more.

Speaking of books, we have an annual book fair coming up. We haven’t had it for the duration of the pandemic, but it’s happening this year. For a few weeks before the event, books are donated by locals who have gone through their bookshelves, etc. After not having it for the past two years, they actually had to close book donations early due to so many books being donated. This event is put on by the local hospital and all proceeds go to support medical needs of the community. I’m making my list and ready to go hunt through all the books! It’s a very popular event, as you can imagine!

The Weekly Wilbs

I sent this photo to my kids with the caption, “Wilbs prefers a king-size bed” – it makes me chuckle each time I see it.

That bed belongs to Tundra, but while he was in his crate, Wilbs would quickly take over his bed. Maybe someday the two of them will put up with each other enough to nap together on the king-size bed. Time will tell!

What are your Thursday thoughts today? I hope you are enjoying the day, whether rain or sunshine, and finding things that make you smile.

Oh! Don’t forget that the Wonderful World of Color Blog Hop is happening this week! My day is tomorrow, so stop back and see my little creation! Joan is doing a great job of hosting the Hop. You can read today’s posts, as well as the posts from earlier this week, at Joan’s site here. Grab another cup of tea and check out the creative projects that have been shared!

Oh I so sympathize about the weather. We had snow this week. Lots of wind a couple of days. Today Wind and rain. Sigh. Tundra is a cutie. LOL Wilbs and the big bed, The book fair sounds like an awesome fund raiser and how cool they got so many donations. I wonder if during COVID shutdowns that book sales boomed?

I enjoyed your pretty flower photo. My tulips are up, we’ll see if I get any blooms from them. I see crocus sprigs too, I thought they all died. Your green cross stitch looks great, what will you do with it?

We finally got warm temps here, but it’s been so dry and windy that it’s turning into wildfire weather! It seems we can’t get a happy medium. Tundra IS a handsome guy! He looks like a sweetie, too. I just finished up another Cork O’Connor book, too – good stories! Looking forward to seeing your entry for the blog hop!

Hi Wendy! We have had very similar weather and even SNOW on Monday. Today we are promised sunshine and 60s. I think all of us are very ready to celebrate that occasion. I’ll be throwing open my work window! Wilbs looks quite comfy on Tundra’s bed. And Tundra is sitting so nice for his picture! What a good boy. Happy Thursday to you and I’ll definitely be back tomorrow for show and tell. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Your cross stitch project looks so nice and green was a good color choice. Tundra is a beautiful dog and, I bet, full of energy. Wilbs looks quite comfy on the big bed. Found a birthday card for my niece and I think Wilbs was on the front! Because of you, I have a new series to read. Finished the first Cork O’Connor book last week and am waiting for the next from the library. During Covid, I was “forced” to buy books because the library e-book collection didn’t have what I wanted! Poor me! Hope you find all the books you want at the sale.

How funny Wilbs looks on Tundra’s gigantic bed! Tundra is adorable (except when he’s chewing your rug!). Your green cross-stitch is lovely. One of these days I think I’m going to pick cross stitch back up.

Tundra is so pretty… if he’s being good wait for it…. the naughty is coming. Has he gotten his adult teeth yet? Everything in my house had labrador tooth marks on it.. Wilbs is putting his mark on that bed. The book series sounds good to me and I have no idea what this blog hop of color is about but should check on it
